Sports Really Satisfies

Bat Cats shift home games to Sports Complex, Barton CC

The Great Bend Bat Cats have shifted their first five home games to the Great Bend Sports Complex and Barton Community College due to construction issues at Al Burns Memorial Field.

Wednesday’s season-opening Bat Cats game is scheduled against the McPherson Pipeliners at the Great Bend Sports Complex.

The Great Bend Bombers youth baseball team plays McPherson at 4 p.m. prior to opening night.

“There are exciting things going on at Al Burns Memorial Field,” said Roger Ward, Bat Cats coach. “However, with all of the weather we’ve received our progress has been delayed. Thank you all for allowing us to play at your facilities.”

The Great Bend Chamber of Commerce Night is rescheduled June 27 at Al Burns Memorial Field.

Great Bend Mayor Cody Schmidt is scheduled to deliver the ceremonial first pitch at 6:50 p.m. Office Products, Inc., Joiner Construction and Z’s Liquor will sponsor a community barbecue for 150 fans.
